Unwind the Noise ("the App") is a personal wellness app designed to provide a quiet, private space for users. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data is collected, how it is used, and what we do not collect.

Data we collect

Analytics (Firebase Analytics)

We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used and to improve the experience. This may include:

• App open events
• Soundscape or guided session category used (e.g. "rain", "forest")
• Breathing session completion (mode name only, e.g. "calm")
• Journal usage (word count ranges only, never content)
• Screens visited and time spent

This data:

• does not include personally identifiable information
• is used only to improve app performance and usability

Data we do NOT collect

We do not collect:

• Account or login information
• Names, email addresses, or contact details
• Journal content or personal notes
• Location data
• Microphone or camera input
• Payment or financial information

Data stored on your device

All personal data remains on your device only and is never uploaded:

• Journal entries
• XP, levels, badges
• Streaks
• Favourite sounds
• Settings and preferences

This data is stored locally using device storage. Deleting the app will permanently remove it.

Audio content

Audio files are streamed from a secure server when used. We may collect high-level usage data (such as categories played) through analytics, but we do not track or store detailed listening history linked to individuals.

Notifications

If enabled, reminders are scheduled locally on your device. No external server is used to deliver notifications.

Children's privacy

This app is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Data retention

We do not retain personal data because we do not collect it. Analytics data is processed and stored by Google Firebase according to their policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy occasionally. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date.
